1) Apple Macintosh System before 7.6.5 come with MacTCP. To upgrade to System 7.6.5, contact your friendly Apple Mac dealer.

2) Once installed, make sure you have Apple Talk activated. Click on the Apple icon from the menu bar and select Chooser. Activate Apple Talk by selecting the
appropriate check box.

3) You will now need to switch the network across from LocalTalk to EtherTalk. To do this, click the Apple icon from the menu bar. Select Control Panel and
then double click on the Network icon.  Now click on the EtherTalk icon to switch from LocalTalk.

Trouble Shooting: If for some reason, EtherTalk can't be activated, then it is most likely that you have a hardware problem with either your network
card, network cable or your network points.

4) Now go back to your Control Panel folder and double click the MacTCP icon.

5) When you see this folder, click on the Ethernet icon.

6) .Press the more button. You will now see this folder (click here).

7) In the Obtain Address section, click on Manually. Now in the IP Address section, select Class "C".

8) Set the subnet to 255.255.255.0

9) Set Gateway IP address as 192.168.0.1

10) Set the DNS to the IP address of the server machine. In most cases this would be 192.168.0.1

11) Don't worry if you can't set the IP number of this machine at this stage. Close this window (I think Mac users call them Folders).

12) Once the above window (folder) is closed, you can now go ahead and set the IP number for your machine simply by typing in the IP number in the appropriate
section.(See here). In our case, this machine has been set to, 192.168.0.5 Other machines on the network will differ by their last digit. For example, the machine
either side of it might be 192.168.0.6 and 192.168.0.4
